Ok, we've determined this much, Mt.Markham is very good and they have a big following. Don't believe me? Read the blog entries.
A few updates: Proctor will be without Steve Brown for the rest of the season, he has a separated shoulder. Deandre Preaster is day to day with an MCL sprain, and Kelly Olney will likely play, sprained ligament in his non throwing elbow. This is all as of Monday.
As for the upcoming games....Raiders host FM on Friday and they need to play their best ball of the season.
Big matchup in Class A as Whitesboro travels to Carthage, both teams are unbeaten in the division. Frankfort puts their perfect record on the line as they host Waterville. The Maroon Knights are a force this season, don't be surpirsed if they run the regular season table.
Staying in Class D, two other teams seem to be on a date with destiny...Dolgeville and Notre Dame. Both have the potential to be undefeated in the league when they meet next week. Jugglers host Oriskany on Friday while the Blue Devils host long time rival West Canada.
If you can't get excited now, you are not a fan. These games are all crucial as teams jockey for position as the playoffs draw near.

go mustangs.........thatt is the team and the cheerleaders.
I just want to give Kudos to the Holland Patent Cheerleaders! You are the best. The decorations and the support have been absolutely fantastic. It adds alot more excitement to everything and the girls never really get any credit. Keep up the good work. You are all doing a great job and the boys really do appreciate what you do! YOU ROCK!
The mustangs are not only one of the best class C teams in the state, they can compete with some of the bigger schools as well. Both Deming and Phillips have the ability to play at a higher level. Deming is very cool in the pocket and an animal on defense. Cortland isolated Phillips, but he seemed to enjoy his role as a pass blocker. His 1200 plus yards this year would place him as one of the top ten rushers in the nation if Mt. Markham listed their players on MaxPreps. No comment on the chearleaders.
looking forward to friday nights game at mount markham it is homecoming. what is your prediction jason, also keep up the great work. thanks for the coverage. go mustangs..
I don't think Mt.Markham can take Little Falls lightly. If the Mounties can play error free football they give teams fits. However they have to protect the ball. The Mustangs have been playing great offensive football. Last week, as we mentioned, they stepped up on defense. Justin Deming had 18 tackles on the line. Its our featured game of the night so make sure you tune in.
Go Westmo!!!!!!
Referring to a previous comment Deming and Phillips are good players ON THE C LEVEL. If by playing on the next level you mean a division III school I can understand, but anything higher and the competition isn't anything close to what they've faced.
Good players on the C Level? Phillips is 6'3", weighs 200 lbs, and averages over 200 yards game. I don't know what his 40 is, but he is by far the fasest guy on the field every week. College ball is a humbling exprience, and you generally don't face a USC defense in high school, yet hundreds of division I and II scholarships are given to talented high school kids each year. Ask the coaches who faced Mount Markham if they think these two are just "good players on the C level".
great job boys and girls keep up the good work..go mustangs
One of my friends from Mount Markham played at Robert Morris a division 1AA school. Granted he was a punter, but he did get in 1AA.
Westmo got Lowville pretty nicely!!
Listen I understand where you're coming from and I understand that people think that Deming and Phillips can play "on the next level" bu like I said they have a shot at making Divsion III and was mistaken, they have a shot at Division II but you've got to understand there are 5A schools out there that are the sizes of small colleges, the competition is really tough and you have backs putting up the same numbers as Deming and Phillips. In response to the 1AA person punting is a whole different ballgame punting rarely has any effect on who you play.
Hang in there Sauquoit!!!! The SV Cheerleaders really are the best, they represent their school proudly and with a lot of class!!!
Listen I understand your opinions but it's very tough to get a Division I + II scholarship playing in a C sized school. You have 5A high schools that are the sizes of small colleges. I'm not taking anything away from Phillips or Deming they're both great players it's just that I think it's going to be hard to get a Division I/ II scholarship when you go to a C sized school.
mustang jv rememeber this you are practicing against the no. 6 state ranked varsity just think what that makes you guys...where would they be without you guys. keep up the great work, you will get your day to shine.
It is nice to see the Mt. Markham Mustangs taken seriously. Cortland had to lean the hard way that they were playing against a real contender. I guess that is what they get for thinking they were going to be playing a bunch if hicks in a corn field!
Go Mustangs!! We are all so very proud of each and every one of you on JV and Varsity. To all coaches: Would like to see the Varsity players play the Varsity games only so that more of the JV players have a fair chance of playing in the JV games. After all, 99% of the time the JV players are standing on the sideline during Varsity games. Fair is fair.
Thank goodness for Pop Warner! I dont think these boys would of been able to have a season like this without it. Keep up the great work! LETS GO BLUE!!
